Deputy Director Aquaculture visit Northeast and Northwest Regional Aquaculture Offices: 3-7 June 2013

Mr. Burger (Deputy Director: Inland Fisheries and aquaculture) visited the Katima Mulilo office for the first time on the 4th of June 2013. He was welcomed by Mr. C Munwela the Chief Fisheries Biologist and Head of the Office. Mr. Munwela informed Mr. Burger about all the activities ongoing in the Caprivi region as well as challenges. Aquaculture staff at the Rundu
He visited the Rundu office on Wednesday, 5 June 2013. Mr. Gosbert Hamutenya welcomed him at the office. Problems faced by the office was discussed. 



He visited the Ongwediva Inland Aquaculture Centre (OIAC) on Thursday, 6 June 2013 where he was taken on a tour of the facility before he met with the staff.

Mr. Burger discussed in detail management issues and his expectations with regard to budget control, operational control, monitoring and evaluation and planning. The finalization of Performance Agreements in line with the Strategic Plan for the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the Annual Plan of the Directorate Aquaculture  was also emphasized and discussed.
