Crokango Fishing Competition Final Results

COMPETITION ANGLING REPORT FOR 2013 

The Crockango Angling Bonanza took place from the 1st to the 4th of May 2012. 
A total of 64 boats took part consisting of 165 anglers. 
Following are statistics on all three days of fishing per major competing species:

2. Nembwe of 2.168kg caught by Jurgen Geiger. Fish was caught on day 4 of the competition. 
3. Nembwe of 2.143kg caught by Ernest Atkinson Junior. Fish was caught on day 3 of the competition. 

Tiger Fish: 
1. Tiger Fish of 5.993kg caught by Pieter Schalk Grobbelaar. Fish was caught on day 2 of the competition. 
2. Tiger Fish of 5.840kg caught by Bertus De Jager. Fish was caught on day 3 of the competition. 
3. Tiger Fish of 5.612kg caught by Duppie Du Plessis. Fish was caught on day 1 of the competition. 

Barbel: 
1. Catfish of 11.8kg caught by Ian Thompson. Fish was caught on day 1 of the competition.

Following are full details of weight and lengths of fish: 

Tiger fish with a length of less than 650mm were measured on a tiger chart and video recorded to release the 
fish immediately. The chart has different zones marked on it at different lengths, thus classifying the estimated 
kilograms to the length of the fish. Tiger fish longer than 650mm come in to the weigh station for accurate 
length and weight as these fish are already competing for the main prizes. 

500mm to 550mm is a 2kg zone 
550mm to 575mm is a 2.5kg zone 
575mm to 600mm is a 3kg zone 
600mm to 625mm is a 3.5kg zone 
625mm to 650mm is a 4 kg zone 

Prize Giving as from 35th Place: 

The 3 boats, each valued at N$125000.00 for the biggest individual Species.
